    Boeing Shanghai Signs Maintenance Agreement with Transaero Airlines

    Brief View: Serve 100 percent of Russian Boeing 767 operators



    SHANGHAI, March 18, 2015 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) today announced the signing of a maintenance agreement with Russian-based Transaero Airlines for its Boeing 767 fleet. With this contract, Boeing Shanghai has secured ‎100 percent of Russian 767 operators as heavy maintenance customers.

    The first Transaero 767 was inducted for C-check in late January followed by another airplane nose-‎to-tail in Boeing Shanghai’s facilities at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. A C-check is an extensive check of the airplane's systems and components that can require several days to perform.

    “In our opinion, Boeing Shanghai is a company of the highest world standard, qualification of its specialists in full meets Transaero requirements. We truly believe that our cooperation will be productive and mutually beneficial,” - said Michael Korobovich, deputy director general, head of technical department, Transaero Airlines.

    Established in 1991, Transaero Airlines is the second largest Russian airline with headquarters in Moscow. It ranks among top seven European and 30 world’s largest airlines in terms of passenger turnover. It operates scheduled and charter flights to domestic and international destinations across Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East. As the largest Boeing operator in Russia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, the airline currently operates 47 737s, 20 747s, 18 767s and 14 777s. Route network of the airline offers over 200 destinations in Russia, as well as in Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Transaero is the only Russian airline, which ranks among 20 safest airlines in the world according to international ranking of JACDEC Research Center.
